What We Actually Built for a Luxury Wellness Spa

When this luxury wellness spa came to us, they were running their business across five disconnected platforms — ClickFunnels at $127/month, Squarespace at $65/month, plus hours of manual work every week on social media and client follow-ups.

Here’s exactly what we built and why.

The website: 15 pages in Astro

We replaced the Squarespace site with a custom 15-page website built in Astro — the same framework powering this blog. The result:

  • $0/month hosting on Cloudflare Pages (vs. $65/month on Squarespace)
  • Sub-second load times — static HTML, no server rendering
  • SEO-optimized with proper meta tags, schema markup, and semantic HTML
  • Mobile-first responsive design built for the luxury wellness audience

The site includes a main spa section, a corporate wellness sub-site with three service tiers, a membership portal (“Join the Tribe”), and an SEO blog — all under one domain.

The automation: 11 workflows running 24/7

This is where the real value lives. Using n8n (self-hosted, ~$6/month), we built 11 automation workflows:

  1. Booking confirmation — instant email + SMS when a client books
  2. 24-hour follow-up — automated check-in after appointments
  3. Review request — timed request sent 2 days post-visit
  4. Lead nurturing — 5-email sequence for new contacts
  5. Social publishing — content queue across 4 platforms
  6. Daily dashboard — Slack briefing every morning at 8 AM
  7. New lead alert — instant Slack notification when a form is submitted
  8. Membership onboarding — welcome sequence for new members
  9. Re-engagement — automated outreach to clients inactive 30+ days
  10. Corporate wellness intake — form submission to CRM + follow-up
  11. Weekly performance digest — metrics summary every Monday

Each workflow was custom-designed for the client’s specific business logic — not a template or preset.
